Prosper Partnership updates

Good Afternoon all

As you know, I have been providing regular updates on what the Prosper Team have been doing in the area of Brierfield, Bradley and Whitefield. 

The Prosper team is dedicated to this area and our objectives are to build a stronger and more resilient community. I can assure you that we are doing our best to make this happen, and in order to do this we are working closely with partners from the area. We have monthly meetings to discuss various issues and concerns as well as what is happening positively within our communities, as there is some amazing work that goes on. 

In October we executed 10 drugs warrants in 2 days and as a result of this we arrested 8 people and charged and remanded 4 of these. 3 persons are currently in Prison awaiting court appearances. We recovered approximately £500-700k worth of drugs during the warrants which has now been taken off the streets. This was a fantastic result and there is more to come. We need you to help us with this by reporting and suspicious activity or drugs activity that you may see. Vehicle Registrations, hotspot areas etc are key to helping us. Also in October we were successful in our application to close 3 shops down in the area. You may have seen this on our FB page but the shops were 

These shops are now closed for 3 months due to significant seizures of illicit tobacco and cigarettes and illegal working over the last few months.  The Prosper team have seized over £200k worth of illicit tobacco and cigarettes and have arrested 4 persons in connection with this. We wouldn't have been able to achieve this without the support of Trading standards and Immigration. We will continue to target and disrupt other shops that want to operate the same way as we know it has a real effect on other legitimate local businesses in the area. Please report any activity relating to shops to us and we will progress this. 

As you can see, the team and partners are doing some brilliant work and this will continue.
